02-7SYMPOSIUM
Overview
Sport refines both the body and the mind. Through competition, it allows us to experience a wide range of emotions. Athletes who compete at the highest level have devoted themselves to years of relentless effort. Along the way, they have faced injuries, setbacks, and moments that tested their spirit. Through these experiences, they have continued to grow—not only as athletes, but also as people.
In many ways, their athletic careers become a condensed journey through the challenges and lessons that people encounter over a lifetime. Through their journeys, they remind us what it means to be human. At REALE WORLD, we believe that when athletes share the experiences and insights they have gained with the next generation, it becomes a source of strength—not only for young people, but also for the athletes themselves as they begin new chapters in their lives. As part of our support for athletes’ second careers, we create opportunities for them to connect with and inspire young athletes by sharing their own stories and experiences.
School & Community Talks
Santos Shakya, a member of REALE WORLD’s Board of Directors, is regarded as a legend in Nepali football, having held the record for the most goals scored in the Nepal Football League. Through sharing how he achieved this remarkable milestone, as well as the values and perspectives that shaped his life growing up in a developing country, he encourages participants to broaden their perspectives and think beyond familiar assumptions. Drawing on his own experiences, he highlights the importance of flexible thinking, taking initiative, and embracing challenges—qualities that can be difficult to cultivate through conventional education alone.

Volleyball Symposium
Since 2024, REALE WORLD has hosted volleyball symposiums for junior high school students, featuring Kazumi Nagata (formerly Kazumi Nakamura), a former member of Japan’s Women’s National Volleyball Team. In December of the same year, the programme was also held in Nepal for players ranging from junior athletes to members of the top league.
In addition to technical instruction, participants have the opportunity to learn from the mindset and attitude that only a top-level athlete can share. Young athletes listen attentively as she speaks about the commitment, discipline, and perspective required to pursue excellence.
- Consistent effort in daily practice is the shortest path to achieving their goals.
- Confidence is built through steady training and perseverance.
- The experiences they devote themselves to today will never be wasted, but will become a source of strength throughout their lives.
Experiencing the mindset of an elite athlete inspires young players to approach both sport and life with greater motivation, sincerity, and determination. For the athletes themselves, these symposiums also provide a meaningful opportunity to see how their own experiences can continue to shape the future through the next generation.
