ヒーロープロジェクトで生まれる“思いやりの伝達”　The “Passing on of Compassion” Born in the Hero Project

2025年、レアーレワールドのヒーロープロジェクトに新しい日本人選手が加わりました。
大学4年生の山口悠太選手です。
彼は、この夏、海外でのプロ選手デビューを目指し、ヒーロープロジェクトとしてレアーレワールドの支援を受けてフィリピンへ渡航。

その彼のフィリピンでのトライアウト先のチームの紹介や、現地でのサッカースクールコーチの仕事の紹介をしてくれたのが「ヒーロープロジェクト」育成選手の中で日本のリーダーとして活動してくれている栗山優也選手です。

In 2025, a new Japanese player joined Reale World’s Hero Project:
Yuta Yamaguchi, a senior university student. This summer, he traveled to the Philippines with the support of Reale World’s Hero Project, aiming to make his professional debut overseas.

It was Yuya Kuriyama—who has been active as a leader for Japanese players within the Hero Project—who introduced Yamaguchi to his trial team in the Philippines and even helped him find a job as a local football school coach.

2021年にネパールでプロデビューを果たして以来、お給料の中からレアーレワールドへの寄付や、オフシーズン中のジュニアの指導、後輩へのアドバイスなど、さまざまな形で「ヒーロー」として貢献してくれている栗山選手。

自分のキャリアのことだけで精一杯になりがちなプロ選手がほとんどの中、なぜ、栗山選手は誰かのための動けるのか？

「 レアーレワールドと出会ってなかったら、今のプロで生活できている自分はいなかったと思います。
大学4年生のとき、ネパールでプロでやれる可能性があるとサントス理事が言ってくれたことが全てを変えました。
そして、当時大学生で渡航費がなかった自分が、ネパールに行けたのも、ヒーロープロジェクトで渡航費とプロになるまでの滞在費をサポートしてもらったから。

そのおかげでネパールでプロデビューを果たすことができ、その後もずっとプロで活動できています」（栗山選手）

今の自分があるのはレアーレワールドのおかげ、ヒーロープロジェクトのおかげ。自分にできる恩返しは、ヒーロープロジェクトからもらったものを、次の選手に渡すことだと語る栗山選手。

「ヒーロープロジェクトのおかげで、僕の人生は大きく変わりました。人として確実に成長できたという手応えがあります。
そんな人生を変えるきっかけを、より多くの若者に経験してほしくて、いくらかでもそのお手伝いができないかと、自分にできることをしています」（栗山選手）

Since making his professional debut in Nepal in 2021, Kuriyama has contributed as a “Hero” in many ways: donating a portion of his salary to Reale World, coaching juniors during the off-season, and offering advice to younger players.

Why is Kuriyama able to act for others, when most professional players are often too preoccupied with their own careers?

“If I hadn’t met Reale World, I wouldn’t be living as a professional player today.
In my senior year at university, Director Santos told me there was a chance I could play professionally in Nepal—that changed everything.
At the time, I had no money for travel. But thanks to the Hero Project covering my travel expenses and living costs until I turned pro, I was able to go to Nepal, debut professionally, and continue playing as a pro ever since.” (Kuriyama)

Kuriyama says that the reason he is where he is now is thanks to Reale World and the Hero Project. The best way he can give back is to pass on what he received through the Hero Project to the next player.

“Because of the Hero Project, my life has completely changed. I truly feel that I’ve grown as a person. I want as many young people as possible to experience a turning point that changes their lives, just as I did. That’s why I try to do what I can to help, even in small ways.” (Kuriyama)

◾️レアーレワールドの考えるヒーローとは
What kind of “Hero” does Reale World envision?

ヒーロープロジェクトは、子どもたちのロールモデルとなるヒーローを育てるプロジェクトですが、レアーレワールドが考えるヒーローは、単にサッカーが上手い選手ではありません。

技術の上に、人としての思いやりと行動力があること。
そして、その思いやりを次の世代に伝えることができる人であること。

それこそが、レアーレワールドが育てたいヒーロー像です。

「近い将来、ヒーロープロジェクトのメンバーみんながレベルアップしてプロとして活躍し、ヒーロープロジェクトのメンバーで、次の選手を支援するのはもちろん、レアーレワールドの活動をさらに広げるための支援ができるようになりたい」と力強い抱負を語ってくれた栗山選手。

栗山選手の背中を見て、山岡大樹選手など他のメンバーも、オフで日本に帰国中はジュニアの指導をしたり、ネパールのFCレアーレ女子チームを応援するキャンペーンに参加したりと行動が変わってきています。

2019年にヒーロープロジェクトがスタートして6年目。その取り組みの中で、確実に思いやりの伝達が始まっています。

The Hero Project aims to raise “heroes” who can become role models for children.
But Reale World’s definition of a hero is not simply a player who is good at football.

A true hero is someone who has compassion and the power to take action on top of their skills.
And most importantly, a hero is someone who can pass that compassion on to the next generation.
That is the kind of hero Reale World strives to nurture.

Kuriyama shared his strong aspirations:

“In the near future, I want all Hero Project members to level up, succeed as professionals, and not only support the next generation of players, but also contribute to expanding Reale World’s activities even further.”

Inspired by Kuriyama’s example, other members such as Daiki have also started changing their actions: coaching juniors when they return to Japan during the off-season, or joining campaigns to support the FC Reale women’s team in Nepal.

Since the Hero Project began in 2019, it has now entered its sixth year.
Within its activities, the passing on of compassion has unmistakably begun.
