「人を幸せにすると自分も幸せになる！」ラメッシュさんからのメッセージ　Message from Ramesh

レアーレワールドでは、ネパールでも積極的にFCレアーレの運営をはじめ、ワールドフレンズプロジェクトやヒーロープロジェクトなど、さまざまな活動を行っていますが、現地でこれだけ多くの活動ができるのは、現地スタッフのおかげです。

そのスタッフの一人がラメッシュさん。

FCレアーレ・ネパールのあるティミ在住で、レアーレワールドがNPO法人となる以前から、FCレアーレ・ネパールの設立およびその後の運営の手伝いをはじめ、ヒーロープロジェクトの現地サポートなど、多くの場面で活動を支えてくれている、主要メンバーの一人です。

低いカーストの出身ということから、差別されることもある彼ですが、不正が大嫌いで、自分の地位や金を持っていることを鼻にかける人が大嫌いで、いつでも人のために動いてくれています。

しかし、そんなラメッシュさんも、レアーレワールドと出会う前の自分は、その日が楽しければそれで良いという生活をしていたと語ります。

「当時は、タバコも吸っていたし、夜は仲間と飲みに出掛けて、今この瞬間わいわい楽しく過ごせればいいと思ってました。でも、レアーレワールドに出会い、サントス理事や、三好代表理事の話しを聞くうちに考えが変わり、酒もタバコもやめました。仲間と飲んでワイワイ騒いで、憂さを晴らすよりも、未来をどうしたいのか、自分の子どもたちのためにできることは何かを考え、家族と一緒の時間を楽しむことの方がずっと有意義だと気づかされたのです」（ラメッシュさん）

ゴミを捨てないこと。
嘘をつかないこと。
約束を守ること。
思いやりの気持ちで人と接すること。
目の前の利益よりも、未来のためのより良い選択をすること。

このような当たり前のことを実践することの大切さを、レアーレワールドと一緒に活動するようになって身をもって知ったと語ってくれました。

以前は、食堂に行っても、テーブルをきれいにするのはウエイターの仕事だから、汚しても構わないと思ってしまっているところがあったというラメッシュさん。
今では、ウエイターさんに余計な仕事を増やさないように、できるだけきれいにテーブルを使うことを心がけています。

もちろん、サッカーの試合の時のロッカールームでも、率先してゴミを拾ってくれています。

先日は、こんなこともありました。

家族で休日に出かけた時のこと、家族の一人が、道で24金のアクセサリーを拾いました。換金すれば、20万円以上にはなるゴールドのアクセサリーで、公務員の初任給が2万円に満たないネパールでは、かなりな金額です。
ラメッシュさんは、家族を諭して、それを警察に届け、もし持ち主が見つからなかったら、神社に寄付して欲しいと伝えました。
幸いなことに、持ち主が見つかり、ゴールドは無事返されましたが、落としたものがそれもゴールドのような換金できるものが返ってくるのは、まず奇跡のような話で、感激した持ち主からラメッシュさんにはお礼の電話があったそうです。

人を幸せにすると自分も幸せになる。
神様は自分の中にいる。

「三好代表理事が何度も何度もそう言っていたのを思い出して行動したら、人に喜んでもらえ、自分も幸せな気持ちになった」とちょっと恥ずかしそうに笑いながら話してくれました。

残念ながら現在のネパールの社会では、お金を稼ぐことが優先されがちで、どんな手段を使っても金持ちになった者が勝者であるかのような風潮がまかり通っています。

しかし、そういう社会の中にあっても、ラメッシュさんのように、レアーレワールドと活動をともにすることで、意識が変わり、誠実さや思いやりから行動できる人が出てきていることは、本当に嬉しく、これまでやってきたことが報われる思いがします。

「生きていくためには、お金が必要。でもお金は人生の全てではない。他人を騙して、他人を踏み台にして、お金を得ても意味がないし、幸せにはなれない。大切なのは、誠実さと思いやり」と語るラメッシュさん。
人を騙すのではなく人に喜ばれてお金を得るのが当たり前の社会、そしてみんなが希望を持って、生きている幸せを感じられる社会。

REALE WORLD carries out a variety of different activities such as “World Friends Project” and　”Hero Project” in addition to managing FC REALE in Nepal. 

It is owed to local staff.
One of those key members is Mr. Ramesh.

He lives in Thimi village where FC REALE is located, supporting REALE WORLD before its establishment as a NPO.
He is absolutely the key member to REALE WORLD, supporting our activities in every respect.

He is given sometimes discriminatory treatment because of low-caste and he hates injustice and dishonest personality. He always works for other people.

Even such a kind of a person, Mr. Ramesh had been lazy before he met REALE WORLD. 

“I was thinking, ‘If it is fun now, I don’t have to care about the rest.’ At that time I was smoking and drinking at night. But I changed my mind and attitude since I met REALE WORLD, Mr. Santosh the board member and Ms. Miyoshi the chairman of the board.
I quitted smoking and drinking and started to think about the future of my own and my kids’, noticing that it is more precious for me to spend time with my family.” said Mr. Ramesh.

Not to litter.
Not to tell a lie.
To keep a promise.
To be thoughtful to others.
To make a better choice for the future.

He said he came to know that it is very important to do those common practices through his REALE WORLD experiences.

Back in the day, he didn’t care if he made a table dirty since it was a waiter’s duty to clean it up. But now he tries to keep the table clean as much as possible to avoid producing extra work for a waiter.

Of course he always picks up garbage, cleaning up the locker room at the time of football games.

Here is another episode; While going out with his family, one of them found a 24k gold accessory on the street. It seemed to be more than 200,000 yen if it was cashed in. It is rather expensive for Nepal, in which the public worker’s starting salary is less than 20,000 yen. Mr. Ramesh persuaded his family to turn it in to the police, asking to contribute to a shrine if its owner would not show up. 

Luckily they found the owner and the gold was returned. The owner was deeply moved by Mr. Ramesh’s act, giving him a call to express his gratitude. It seems like a miracle to get back a lost item, especially an expensive one.

If you make other people happy, you will be happy. God exists inside of myself.

“I remember Ms. Miyoshi repeatedly said so and acted in accordance with her guidance. 
It made other people happy and I also felt so happy.” shyly said Mr. Ramesh.

Disappointingly in current Nepali society it tends to be preferred to make money and people think someone who becomes rich by whatever is a winner. Even in such a tendency, we are delighted to know that our activities could give a chance to a person like Mr. Ramesh to reform the sense of thinking and to act out of sincerity and consideration.

We are rewarded.

“We need money in order to live. But money is not all for life. It is nonsense if you make money betraying others or using someone as a stepping stone and you could never be happy. The most important thing is to be sincere and thoughtful.” 

A society where people could live with full of hope and happiness. 
We, REALE WORLD will work sincerely to realize a vision of the idealized future Nepal which Mr. Ramesh told.
